FAQs of #Calculation Component
Q: Which development environment can use #Calculation Component?
A: #Calculation Component is an ActiveX component. It can be used by most of development tools which support COM such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Visual Studio.NET etc.

Q: What can #Calculation Component do?
A: #Calculation Component is a powerful calculation engine which integrates expression parsing and evaluation. Generally speaking, it is very useful in two main areas: first, when a formula has to be defined and evaluated at runtime (for example, when the end user is allowed to enter a formula that will be evaluated and used); second, when a set of formulas that depend on each other are defined, configured, and evaluated at run-time.

Q: What kinds of operations can be supported by #Calculation Component?
A: #Calculation Component supports conventional math, string, date&time, logical operators and functions, and is suitable for heavy-duty number crunching.

Q: Can I define a function belongs to myself?
A: Yes, you can. #Calculation Component supports custom functions. You can use them like the built-in functions after you add them to the custom function set of #Calculation Component.

Q: How can I use Matrix of #Calculation Component ?
A: #Calculation Component treats matrix operation just like MATLAB. The matrix is signed by two square brackets , i.e. [ ] , and its elements can be numbers, strings, date&time values, variables, expressions etc.. But its elements can not be another matrix. The matrix will be seemed as a whole element just as a variable, a number etc. to participate in the calculation process.

Q: What kind of license agreement do I need to distribute the component?
A: You are required to purchase a license in order to distribute applications which contain one or more #Calculation Components. Without the license, the #Calculation Component is considered under evaluation.

Q: What kind of license do I need to run the component on a server?
A: If the product is subsequently deployed on a Server Node/PC for Client Server or on a Web Server Node/PC you need to buy a Site Wide License.
